ヤコブ病
 狂牛病とは、正式名称が千海綿状脳症（Bocine Spongiform Encephalopathy)といい、人間が狂牛病に罹った牛の脊髄近や脳、目、内臓などを食べると１０年後発病し、脳がスポンジのようにスカスカになり行動異常などの神経症状がでて２週間から６ヶ月で死に至る恐ろしい病気です。現在狂牛病の治療方法はありません。１９８６年にイギリスでこの病気が発見されて、調査してみると１８万頭が感染していました。この病気は人間にも感染し、現に狂牛病になった人もいます。
