 POPs(残留性有機汚染物質）（Persistent Organic Pollutants)とは、分解しにくい物質なので環境の中で残留し生物濃縮性をもつ有機化合物です。底質中または土壌の中では６ヶ月以上残留し、水の中では２ヶ月以上残留します。
