半導体産業
 半導体産業とは、電子部品を半導体デバイスで生産したり開発する最先端技術産業のことです。半導体産業は１９４７年にアメリカのＡＴ＆Ｔベル研究所でトランジスタが発明されたことをきっかけに誕生しました。また、１９５０年にはアメリカでＩＣ（Integrated Circuit)（集積回路のこと）が考案、１９６１年にはフェアチャイルド社が集積回路を商品化したことによって本格的に半導体産業の基盤が築きあげられました。その後シリコンバレーでは数百ものベンチャー企業が半導体産業を競い合いました。
