食品添加物
 食品添加物（Food Additives)とは、食品の製造の過程において又は食品の加工若しくは保存の目的で、食品に添加、混和、、その他の方法で使用される物のことをいいます。これは食品衛生法で定義されています。保存の目的や色をつけるなどの加工に使用される科学合成品または天然物がそれに当てはまります。また、砂糖や塩、、湖沼、、寒天、ゼラチンなどは添加物でありますが、昔から使われているからなのでしょうか、添加物、天然香料扱いは受けていません。
